Palliative Care Services
Palliative care extends the principles of hospice care and provides services to individuals with life-threatening illness who continue to receive treatment:
Accessing hospice services
Individuals may request hospice services or be referred by their physician or health care providers, family members or friends. Patients are accepted based on their health care needs - not on their ability to pay. However, most patients qualify for reimbursement through Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs and private insurance companies.
